Frequently asked questions
Does Ainola delete my plugins? +
No. Disabling a plugin only renames its file with a reversible suffix so hosts stop loading it. Re-enabling restores it exactly. Nothing is ever uninstalled.
Will it affect my DAW? +
Disabled plugins will not appear in any host. Run enable all, or your own DAW mode, to bring your whole library back instantly.
How do I start the free trial? +
On first launch, click start 14-day trial. No account and no card are needed.
How do I enter my license key? +
After you buy, you receive a license key by email and on the order page. In Ainola, click the license badge at the top right, paste your key and click activate.
Why does Ainola ask for my admin password? +
Plugins live in system Library folders that require admin rights to change. Ainola batches every change into a single authorized step, so you are asked once per batch.
What are the keyboard shortcuts? +
Rescan is Command-R, Sibelius mode is Command-Shift-S, and enable all is Command-Shift-E.
Can I add custom plugin folders? +
Yes. In settings you can add custom scan folders, choose your language from ten options, show or hide AAX, and export or import your enabled state as a backup.
Why not the Mac App Store? +
Ainola needs to modify plugin files in your Library folders, which the App Store sandbox forbids. It ships as a direct download instead.
What happens if I get a refund? +
Access follows your license. If an order is refunded, the license is deactivated and Ainola locks on its next online check.
Which formats and macOS versions? +
AU, VST, VST3, CLAP and AAX, on macOS 12 Monterey or later. The build is universal, for Apple Silicon and Intel.
